I saw in the statistics page that Poland has 469,524 GSM, 0 CDMA, 754,771 UMTS, 311,923 LTE and 18 NR cells.
I was curious where the NR cells are located, so I downloaded the 260.csv.gz
file.
However, to my surprise, there were no NR entries there.
$ gzip -cd 260.csv.gz | cut -d, -f1 | sort | uniq -c | sort -n
14778 UMTS
15845 GSM
65725 LTE
What’s more, the numbers of GSM, UMTS and LTE cells were significantly lower than on the statistics page.
I downloaded the full cell_towers.csv.gz
file and confirmed the findings. The same kind of differences can be seen for other countries too.
Why is there such a big difference? Where do the NR cells for Poland come from?
