CellCD: number of digits

Hello forum,

I am wondering why smartphone apps like SatStat do report the connected cell with a 8 digit number (e.g. 12345678) , meanwhile my smartphone shows the cell I am connected to with only 5 digits (12345). Independently of the network type. (The first 5 digits are the same)

Why that?

Hi Joe,

Assuming you’re connected to the same cell and using the same hardware, it’s possible these apps target a different android API to communicate with the hardware.
